When arriving in the state of Jammu/Kashmir, a check post is located at Lakhanpur where a toll-tax is required per each vehicle. Distances of traveling by road to Jammu are as follows:

Train
Jammu’s connectivity is increased by its railways, which allows the rest of the country to be accessible from the main station (Jammu Tawi). Located between the city of New Delhi and Jammu is the Jammu Rajdhani, which is serviced by railway operators such as the Jhelum Express, the Jammu Tawi Express and the Jammu Mail.
Air
Jammu’s airport is located in Satwari (8 kms from the city’s center), and is served with regular flights by GoAir, Indian Airlines, Jetlite, Kingfisher Airlines and Spice Jet. Taxis are readily available outside of the airport.
